26 Aug, 2017, Mangalore: On Friday morning on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi,
a grand celebration was held at Expert P U College in Valachil, Mangalore.
The chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya’ – rent the air as students gathered for the ganapathi pooja at the temple premises in the college. The pooja was conducted by the temple priest Sri.Prakash. The ritualistic ceremony was followed by bhajans and various cultural performances by students. The Chairman of Expert group of institutions Prof Narendra L Nayak, Vice chairperson Mrs.Ushaprabha N Nayak, Information Technology Director Mr Ankush N Nayak , Trustee Ustad Rafique Khan were present on the occasion.
Addressing the college students Principal Dr N K Vijayan said that rich Indian culture manifests through celebration of festivals. So, students need to strengthen these celebrations by being a part of it and continuing the traditions.
The General Manager of Chef on Wheels Mr.Edwin Castelino was also present. Various cultural programs were performed by the students. The celebrations concluded with sumptuous feast in the afternoon.
